Lunch with the ladies at Lusso, Greenbelt 5

I’ve passed by Lusso so many times in Greenbelt 5 but have never really dined there until Monday's lunch with the ladies.  It was a good thing my talented baker-mom friend Len has suggested we had lunch there, I agreed (who wouldn’t?) and so did our always on the go and cam-shy friend Brie.

It was a good day to have lunch, the weather temperature was low, the sun was not so harsh,  and if you live in Manila, you know that days like these are precious.

Me and Len (Brie is cam-shy, but you'll see a "part" of her later.  Haha!  We catched up on each other’s lives, talked about family, friends, health, career, business and Manila's pastry of the moment, cronuts (or kroughnuts, it is spelled differently depending on where you're getting it).

I arrived first at the restaurant and couldn’t help but marvel at the al fresco setting.  It would be nice to have afternoon tea here, or even a romantic candle-lit dinner at night.  I love the ambiance.  Outside you’re surrounded with the greenery in Greenbelt Park while inside Lusso is a cozy dining area with velvet gold upholstered chairs, a beautiful crystal chandelier and a 6 table set-up.

Of course, I couldn't help but take a photo of the arrangement at the outdoor table by Fiori Di M.
I love their arrangements, they are like sculptures.

Don't you just love the indoor dining area?
I love the beautiful crystal and gold chandelier and how it anchors the entire room.

Some tea selections you can enjoy from fine tea company Mariage Freres.

The tea-making sets that sends you back in time.  I just love its pretty little details.
We definitely have to come back and have tea here.

Here’s are some snapshots of the food that we enjoyed together with great conversation:

We ordered Luxe Fries with Asiago cheese and Truffle salt for starters

Brie was conscious of what to eat, she ordered the Spinach Taglerini
which had asiago cheese, mushrooms and parma ham

I ordered the Proscuitto Galloni Gold & Gruyere Toast

All that gruyere cheese is pure heaven!

While Len ordered the Lobster and River Prawn Roll

For dessert, we ordered the Mocca Sans Rival with milk chocolate and cashews

We all loved that the Mocca Sans Rival was not too sweet.
No wonder it is one of Lusso's best-selling desserts!

Guess who had a great time at Tory Burch's mid-year sale?

Instant photo collage made by Len

It was a great day to catch-up with friends.  You'll find Lusso at the Ground Level of Greenbelt 5, Makati City (beside Balenciaga).  For reservations, call (+63-2) 756-5893.
