If there's one word that would best describe the past week that Mickey and I just had, it would have to be - busy. Don't get me wrong, it's the good kind. The kind that brings forth blessings and the kind that allows you to bless others as well.
This summer is probably the one summer that we were not able to plan a proper vacation due to commitments, but still, God has His way of surprising us in different ways. A few days before our 6th wedding anniversary, I was praying to God and asking Him, how I hope that Mickey and I can celebrate our anniversary despite our busy schedule. Guess what? Just like an answered prayer, we received an invitation from The Linden Suites to try out one of their newly renovated Suites on our anniversary.
We checked-in on a Saturday, March 28, which is our wedding anniversary (and it was also the day that Earth Hour is celebrated).
Checking in was easy, we were reminded of one particular house rule by the person at the front desk - maximum of 15 people all at once in a room. I had to ask him to repeat what he just said, just in case I heard him wrong. But, it was clear. By this time, I was wondering, how big could the room be?
When we opened the room to our one bedroom suite at the 19th Floor, we first saw a glimpse of the dining area with 3 dining chairs and to the right is a kitchen that is in a cove with a microwave oven, a refrigerator, an induction domino cooktop, a kettle, a coffee maker, two bottles of water, two coffee mugs and some coffee, tea, sugar and creamer. The Suite is like a serviced apartelle.
This kitchen is close to what we have at home
A modern French door separates the dining area and kitchen from the spacious one bedroom suite. I absolutely love the big space, the high ceilings, the white walls and the generous amount of natural light that goes through the curtains. It made me feel relaxed and at home.
The room also has a 32-inch flat screen TV, a writing desk and an audio/video player (that functions as a DVD player, a CD player, a USB player and it also has an iPod dock). There is also Wi-Fi in the room (the user name and passwords will be given to you as soon as you check in).
Meet my roomie
I love that we were booked on a high floor (19th)
Inside the cabinet you'll find a spare pillow, a bath robe, a pair of slippers, a shoe horn, a laundry bag, a flash light and a safety deposit box. As two guests staying in the suite, I would have preferred two spare pillows, two robes and two guest slippers, instead of one.
The bathroom is also spacious with beige colored bathroom tiles, a hot and cold shower and a bath tub with bath towels. Also included are shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bars of soap, a box of cotton buds, and a shower cap.
That's right, relax...
Around 8:00 p.m. we went down to the lobby in anticipation of Earth Hour. Every year, wherever we are, we make sure that we participate during Earth Hour.
At exactly 8:30 p.m., Mr. Dominic A. Dorol, The Linden Suites' General Manager, gave the signal of lights out at the start of Earth hour. The hotel lights were switched off. What was left were the flickering of lights from candles and the votives on the staircase. It was Earth Hour pretty.
When the lights were up at 9:30 p.m., we went up to Mesclun at the second level for the Special Earth Hour dinner hosted by The Linden Suites' General Manager Dominic A. Dorol.
Mesclun is The Linden Suites' concessionaire that serves Asian, European and Mediterranean cuisine.

Overall, the new Suite rooms at The Linden Suites would be good for a quick weekend recharge or even long staying family staycations, for business travellers, or even to host bridal shower parties, birthday salubongs or small reunions with balikbayan friends.
I really felt at home in our one bedroom suite. I could stay in that room and just let time pass me by, to just recharge, read a book, cook a simple hearty meal and enjoy good conversation before heading back to the daily grind. Thank you The Linden Suites for letting us experience your new one bedroom suite. Mickey and I enjoyed our stay!
