Bread Street Kitchen Singapore by Gordon Ramsay

It's our 5th and last day in Singapore and of course we couldn't leave without having to try International Celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay's Bread Street Kitchen at Marina Bay Sands.

Gordon Ramsay is one of Mickey's favorite chefs to watch.  His favorite TV series are Kitchen Nightmares, Gordon's Ultimate Home Cooking and recently Matilda and the Ramsay bunch.  A visit to one of his restaurants is such a treat.  Can you see how happy he is in this photo?  He gamely asked me to take his photo beside Gordon Ramsay's photo at the Restaurant and copied his pose.  After I took the photo, he said "yes, chef!" which is what chefs-in-training under Gordon Ramsay would say in his TV shows.

I reserved for a table online prior to our trip, so we can try the breakfast selection at Bread Street Kitchen Singapore.  We are big on breakfast and brunch!  You wouldn't believe it, but we were at the restaurant at 7:30 a.m.  Mickey and I are morning persons and we really don't mind being early at the restaurant.  It gives us time to soak it all in especially that the restaurant is facing Marina Bay.

Don't you just love the industrial chic interiors?  It gives off an easy, relaxing vibe.

The bar area

There is also an al fresco dining area.  We noticed that those who come from doing an exercise routine like biking and running sit here to have their meals.  It is also looks like a good spot for a drink at night given that it has a view of Marina Bay.

On weekends, they have a sweet corner buffet.  The mini-buffet consists of vanilla, yogurt, home-made granola and mix berries, mixed mini pastries, fruit cakes/tarts, toast, butter and jam, cookies, fruit salad, fresh juices, tea and coffee.  The sweet corner buffet costs S$23 (or P805) per person.

Mickey and I both had The English Breakfast, which consists of two eggs of your choice (scrambled, poached or fried), bacon, sausage, Portobello mushrooms, tomato, baked beans.  This dish costs S$24 (or P840).

You may say that this is just traditional English breakfast, but their secret is really quality choice ingredients that other restaurants scrimp on.

We paired our breakfast of choice with a glass each of Tropical Mix.  It consists of orange, pineapple, mango, strawberry, blood orange, kiwi, pear and honey.  Each glass costs S$9 (or 315).

The breakfast menu is quite simple, which is just right for an early morning meal.  Next time we visit (either lunch or dinner), I would love to try their signature dishes, such as their Tamarind Spiced Chicken Wings, Traditional Fish & Chips and sample traditional British dishes like Shepherd's Pie.

It was a great morning spent at Bread Street Kitchen Singapore!
